bHaptics introduces the new bHaptics X40 and X16 vests
The new bHaptics TactSuits, X40 and X16, have been announced by bHaptics and will be delivered exclusively within Europe by Unbound VR. Want to know more about these vests and what improvements they have over the original bHaptics vests? Then read our blog!
40 individual haptic motors
The TactSuit X40 contains, just like its predecessor, 40 individual haptic motors spread over the front and back of the vest. This allows you to feel the exact point where you are hit. For example, are you playing a shooting game and being shot from behind? Then you will feel the haptic motors on the back vibrating. But the vest even reacts to ambient noises, so if a grenade goes off at your feet; then you'll feel the whole vest move! And thanks to the larger 9800 mAh battery, the vest lasts up to an impressive 18 hours of playtime.

16 built-in sensors
The TactSuit X16 is a slightly smaller variant of the TactSuit X40. With 16 built-in sensors, the haptic feedback is less accurate, but the vest lasts longer (± 22 hours of playtime). Both vests operate with a Bluetooth 4.0 connection and are also compatible with audio-to-haptics solutions.
The TactSuit X16 is also a bit shorter compared to the X40. Because there are fewer sensors in the vest, the haptics can still be placed closer together, and the vest can be used comfortably while sitting (for example, for gaming at your desktop). For this reason, the bHaptics TactSuit X40 seems more suitable for companies and professional users, and the TactSuit X16 is more targeted at consumers.

20+ SteamVR titles
Currently, there are already more than 20+ SteamVR titles to which bHaptics offers native support, including popular titles like Onward, Thrill of the Fight, and Sairento VR. Native support for Oculus Quest and Quest 2 is currently more limited, but bHaptics indicates they are working hard to make Quest games standard compatible.
Audio to Haptics
The Audio-to-Haptics software provides a solution for users when a game is not supported by bHaptics. For instance, a game like Beat Saber does not offer native support, but it is still playable with haptic feedback using Audio-to-Haptics.
The bHaptics TactSuit X40 and X16 are available from December 16, 2020. By placing an order with Unbound VR, you are guaranteed delivery from the first moment!
