Virtuix Omni One: What we know so far
Step on the treadmill, strap yourself in, put on a VR headset, and transport yourself to another dimension. This might sound like the plot of the well-known Steven Spielberg film Ready Player One, but nothing could be further from the truth! The Virtuix Omni One is the latest project from American developer Virtuix, known for one of the first (and most chosen) VR treadmills particularly popular at VR Arcades and other entertainment centers
Simply in the living room
The Omni One is the sequel to the popular Virtuix Omni Pro. This version has been particularly designed with the idea that the Omni One is much smaller and compact. It also seems that players in the Omni One can move much more freely than was possible in the Omni Pro. While you were still attached to a sturdy ring around your waist in the Omni Pro, with the Omni One you step into a sort of harness that reminds us of the bHaptics vest (like the bHaptics X40. Imagine; running around in the virtual world and also feeling when you get hit! It doesn't get more realistic than that
The biggest advantage of a VR treadmill is the fact that you can move around a full 360 degrees without needing the physical space to do so. You can run, jump, crawl, and spin without posing a danger to others - or accidentally bumping into the wall. This is one of the reasons why a VR treadmill is a much-requested attribute in the VR Arcade world
But what stands out most about the Omni One is that the product can simply be placed in the living room. While the Virtuix Omni Pro primarily targeted the professional gaming industry, it will soon be possible to place the Omni One in your bedroom or man cave! The price also seems to reflect this. While similar VR treadmills can quickly cost thousands of euros (and you often need a very powerful PC as well), the Virtuix Omni One can be purchased for an (expected) price of $1995 (please note, this price may differ from the final European sales price). In addition, the Omni One is fully compatible with the Pico Neo 2 headset (and perhaps when the Omni One comes to market also with other standalone VR glasses), so you no longer need an external PC

Release date unknown
In addition to a number of VR games developed by Virtuix, it is also possible to play other well-known games with the Omni One treadmill. For example, there are already many mods available that allow games like GTA 5 and Team Fortress 2 to be played on the Virtuix Omni treadmill
All in all, we are very curious about the Virtuix Omni One. The release date of this product is not yet known, but we can't wait to strap ourselves into the harness and run around on the Omni One!
