Meta, the parent company of Facebook, is taking it a step further with Facebook Horizon Workrooms. This online collaboration platform uniquely brings colleagues together via virtual reality. Horizon Workrooms is not just any online collaboration platform. It sets itself apart from the rest through the integration of VR, or virtual reality. This gives you the feeling of physically and mentally being in the meeting room, while you're actually just at home on the couch or behind your desk. Horizon Workrooms proves that virtual reality is not only suitable for making games more intense and realistic, but it can also be used during online meetings. Virtually meet with team members and colleagues to brainstorm, share ideas, hold meetings, give presentations, and work on joint tasks from afar. To get the most out of Workrooms, you need a compatible VR headset. You can also use the platform without a virtual reality headset, although that's what makes Horizon Workrooms so unique and special.

To get started with Horizon Workrooms, you can log in here with your Meta account. This is the same as the account you use for Facebook and/or Instagram. Don't have a Meta account yet? Then you need to create one first with your email address. After registering with Workrooms using your Meta account, you'll receive a 4-digit code via email that you need to enter into Workrooms. Then, you can create a new workspace and secure it with a password. Accept the terms. You can now send an invitation to colleagues, schedule a meeting, chat, share files, participate in a video conference, and customize the virtual environment to your liking.

Not every VR headset can be used in Horizon Workrooms. The collaboration platform is only compatible with the Meta Quest headsets, such as the Meta Quest 2 and the Meta Quest Pro. To be able to use virtual reality, you need to install the Horizon Workrooms app on your compatible VR headset. You can download this application via the app library on the headset. Open the app and follow the in-VR instructions to complete the installation. It is likely that the new, yet to be released Meta Quest 3 will also be compatible with Horizon Workrooms.
