The Leap Motion Controller is an optical hand-tracking module that captures the movement of users' hands and fingers, allowing them to communicate naturally with digital content. It's small, fast, and accurate and can be used for productivity applications with Windows computers, integrated into enterprise-level hardware solutions or displays, or coupled with virtual/augmented reality headsets for AR / VR / XR prototyping, research, and development. The controller can track hands within an interactive 3D zone extending to 60 cm or more, stretching from the device in a field of view of 120 x 150°.

The Leap Motion software can distinguish and track 27 different hand elements, including bones and joints, even when they are obscured by other parts of the hand.
