Pros and Cons
- The Trimble XR10 is designed for use in industrial environments.
- The Trimble XR10 comes with a construction helmet and HoloLens 2. The HoloLens 2 has a wider field of view than the HoloLens 1 and more accurate hand and eye tracking.
- The audio from the Trimble XR10 is delivered directly to the bone. This makes the audio crystal clear, even when used in a noisy environment.
- The HoloLens 2 is not suitable for gaming or entertainment applications.
- With the Trimble XR10, the HoloLens 2 can only be used in conjunction with the construction helmet to which it is attached.

Microsoft Trimble XR10 with HoloLens 2
The Trimble XR10 is a combination of a certified construction helmet and the Microsoft HoloLens 2, the perfect blend for Mixed Reality on the construction site. Mixed Reality is the merging of a projection and reality: the HoloLens overlays 3D models at true size over the environment if desired. For example, Microsoft Teams allows remote viewing through the HoloLens for remote assistance, where the integrated audio device uses the bone to transmit sound, rather than the ears. As a result, the audio is always crystal clear, even in a noisy environment.
Using Trimble Connect for HoloLens, it is possible to place the design in its environment before construction, walk through models, or conduct checks during execution. The reality can be compared 1-to-1 with the model, quickly spotting or preventing mistakes. Communicating through tasks in the model and using live collaboration sessions allows for faster and better decision-making.
The XR10 is specifically designed for use in hazardous environments: the HoloLens is integrated with a construction helmet, making it safe to use on construction sites without compromising on convenience and appearance. Moreover, the HoloLens (glasses) can easily be flipped up to quickly switch between Mixed Reality and reality. This eliminates the need to change helmets when you are not using the HoloLens.
